Dickens Tops Sales for Newnan Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty Office

Steven Dickens has been named Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty’s June, 2009, Agent Leader for its Newnan/Coweta office. Betty Murphy was the No. 2 individual producer and Linda Scott was No. 3. for the Newnan office during the month.

Dickens kicked off his real estate career with Bullard nearly seven years ago, transferring to the Newnan office early in 2006 from the Jonesboro office. He is a specialist in assisting private owners in buying and selling personal and investment properties, as well as serving many nationwide corporate clients in marketing their foreclosure properties. Before entering real estate, he had a successful 15-year career in corporate management with Edison Bros. Stores, Inc., Circuit City and Gateway Computers.

An Active Life Member of the Metro South Association of Realtors’ Circle of Excellence, he was a top-selling agent for the Jonesboro office in 2005, being No. 1 in sales volume and No. 3 in generating income. He received Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation International Sterling Society membership in 2004 and International Diamond Society membership in 2005. In 2006, he was in the top 2 percent of Coldwell Banker agents nationwide, gained membership in the Coldwell Banker International President’s Elite and was the year’s top individual producer both companywide and for the Newnan/Coweta office. In 2007, he again achieved International President’s Elite status, was the top producer for the Newnan office, and was the No.2 individual producer for the company.

2007 Top Producer Announced

Coggin's Farm In Coweta County Has Success In Initial Sales Efforts

The first sales have already been recorded in Coggin’s Farm, Jeff Lindsey Communities’ new 90-home community on George Coggins Road in Coweta County.

Jakicic Named Coweta Office Agent Leader

Cynthia Jakicic was announced as March Individual Agent Leader for the Newnan/Coweta County office of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty.

Shannon Scott the No. 2 producers for the office during the month, and Stacy Dunlap and Brittany Rainwater were No. 3.

Jakicic, who got her training through Coldwell Banker Fast Start, is a Certified Relocation Specialist, and she is a member of the Newnan/Coweta Board of Realtors, where she has earned Million Dollar Club membership, and the Georgia and National Associations of Realtors. She was named to the Bullard Bronze Society for her production in 2004 and 2005 and was awarded a company Certificate of Merit in 2006 and 2007.

A native of Coweta Couunty and a graduate of East Coweta High School, she resides in Coweta County with her husband Gary, daughters Madison and Samantha, and son Brandon.
She is a member of Community Christian Church, serving as leader of the TLC church group.

Career Nights Planned at Coldwell Banker Bullard Newnan Office

The Newnan/Coweta County office of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty has scheduled three upcoming Career Nights for persons interested in careers in real estate.

The Career Nights will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21, Tuesday, March 18,. and Thursday, April 10, at 6 p.m. at the company’s Newnan/Coweta County, located at 1605 Hwy. 34 East (Suite B) in the White Oak Professional Center, located directly across the highway from John Cullen Dodge. Refreshments will be served.

BUILDING STANDARDS PROPOSED FOR NEW RESIDENTIAL

The Newnan Planning Commission, along with the City Planning Department, is currently developing proposed building standards for new residential construction in Newnan’s national register historic districts. Under these standards, residential new construction will be required to be compatible with the historic character of the neighborhood within which they are being built.

The Planning Commission is currently seeking public input on the proposed standards. They will hold a public hearing at their next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the Newnan City Hall.

“Although the City has existing national register districts, we do not have standards in place to ensure that new construction compliments the existing historic homes,” said Tracy Dunnavant, Planning and Zoning Director for the City of Newnan. “As of right now, types of building materials, scale, and other pertinent decisions are left solely to the discretion of the builder, and the city is considering adopting language to ensure some type of quality control,” continued Dunnavant.

In defining “new construction”, the Commission was quick to limit the standards to structures being built on undeveloped lots or lots where complete demolition has occurred. The regulations would not apply to the expansion of existing structures, improvements to exterior walls, additions to existing structures, accessory structures for existing residences, and general maintenance and repair of existing homes.

With the proposed additions to the zoning ordinance, standards for new residential construction in the area include such requirements as enhancing the overall character of the district, being compatible with the dominant design characteristics of the historic homes, being consistent with adjacent structures, and using building materials such as wood, brick, masonry, and other complimentary materials. The use of vinyl siding in the district will be strongly discouraged.

Dunnavant said the standards are designed to achieve the quality development that the City is seeking, while providing a certain amount of flexibility for the property owner. She added that maintaining that careful balance is crucial when creating a successful design.
