Active Adult Builder continues to sell homes despite slow economy

Orchards of East Cherokee Holds Groundbreaking for New Clubhouse

Groundbreaking was held recently for the new Grand Clubhouse, swimming pool and amenities area in The Orchards of East Cherokee, The Orchards Group's 55 and older active adult age preferred community neighborhood near Woodstock.

Completion of the grand clubhouse in the community, located in the historic Hickory Flat area of Cherokee County, is expected by early fall. Amenities within the neighborhood will include a grand clubhouse with a fitness room, a card and games room, a large gathering room with a fireplace, a surround sound TV entertainment center, a gourmet kitchen, a barbecue grill and a community swimming pool. First Sharp Residential Homeowners Move into LakeStone!

Residents have already begun moving into LakeStone, Sharp Residential’s newest single-family neighborhood located in sought-after Woodstock. Spacious new homes, many with basements, are selling fast and range in price from the $300,000s to $400,000s. The community surrounds a lake, and upon completion will have 203 homes, a swimming pool, tennis courts, tot lot, dock and sidewalks throughout.

Cameron and Thomas Mize have just moved into LakeStone with their young daughter, Samantha. They weren’t really planning on moving so quickly from their previous home which was located only a mile and a half away. But the amount of house they could get for the price was unbeatable. They ended up purchasing The Briarcliff II, a five bedroom home with a full basement.

“We knew we would move eventually as our family grew,” said Cameron Mize. “When we saw the sign for LakeStone go up, we began scoping it. We just couldn’t pass on the opportunity to get such a pretty and spacious home at such an affordable price.”

Mize’s favorite thing about her new home is the bay windows and the front porch. But, The Briarcliff II also features a large kitchen with lots of cabinets and a generous island. It opens to the living room and has a view of the two-story floor-to-ceiling fireplace in the center of the home. The floorplan is great for entertaining and the Mize family is looking forward to many get-togethers with friends and family in the future.

“We are really social,” said Mize. “I want to barbeque in the backyard with the family…and have a birthday party for our daughter in August...and have neighborhood parties as other families move in! I also look forward to spending time by the lake and the pool, and being able to take walks throughout the neighborhood.”

The surrounding area was also a plus for the Mize family.
