Jim Chapman Named Secretary of the Atlanta 50+ Housing Council's Board of Directors

The 50+ Housing Council, part of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, recently named Jim Chapman Secretary of the Executive Committee for 2009. Jim has served on the Board of Directors for two years and currently serves as Sponsorship Committee Chair. In January, Chapman will take over as Secretary on the Executive Committee. Election for this position creates the opportunity for Chapman to serve as Treasurer in 2010, Vice Chair in 2011 and Chairman of the Board in 2012. Chapman, owner and founder of Jim Chapman Communities, is experienced in the 50+ market, having overseen the development of five successful active adult communities in the Atlanta area.

“The success of Jim Chapman Communities has marked Chapman as both a leader and innovator in the 50+ market, and we are sure that Jim will be a valuable asset to the Executive Committee, helping us to continue to lead the Atlanta 50+ Council in the right direction,” said Betsy Sheppard, Board Treasurer and Communications Chair.

The Council’s leadership consists of a board of directors comprised of four executive committee members and eight board members, each of which chairs a committee. The focus of the Council is to promote membership, programs, advocacy, education and charity.
